Santa Fe

The North Shore – Featuring gentler surf, the north shore is generally more suitable for children than on other parts of the island. The only exception is Brant Point which has a strong current worth noting.

• Brant Point – Easily accessible, a strong current makes it a beach for more experienced swimmers. No lifeguards on duty. A scenic beach it is home to Brant Point Lighthouse.

History Of The State Of Wisconsin

Wisconsin was created in the year 1848 as the 30th state admitted to the union. First inhabited by the native Menominee, Kickapoo, Miami and Winnebago peoples, it was not until the year 1634 that the first European set foot on what is now Wisconsin today. An explorer named Jean Nicolet, a Frenchman accidentally happened on the shores of Wisconsin while searching for the Northwest Passage and claimed possession for his homeland. Not much later, Great Britain claimed this area and many more from the French during the now infamous French and Indian War.

In 1783, the British signed over this land to the newly formed U.S. government. Although Wisconsin was now a part of the U.S., people did not come to settle the land until much later. By the 1820′s the settlers began to arrive at this still wild land and years later, became the 30th state to be a part of the now United States of America.
